Disney's Magic Your Way Dining Plan

Starting with the new Magic Your Packages introduced in January, 2005, Disney World resorts guests were finally able to add a dining plan to their package that was reasonably price, convenient and made sense for the average traveler. The Magic Your Way dining plan was born, and has been a smash hit every since. We hope to answer common questions for you here

Who can purchase the Disney Dining plan?

Any guest who is staying at at Disney resort (doesn't matter if it is Pop Century or the Grand Floridian). You must purchase a Magic Your Way package that includes your Disney Resort stay and Magic Your Way park passes. Your package must also be between 3 and 10 nights in lenght. Other than that, there are no requirements. Disney Vacation Club members staying one points at a DVC resort are also able to add the dining plan to their stay.

What exactly is the Disney Dining plan?

Basically, it is an option to pre-pay for most of your meals. For each night of your Magic Your Way package, each person in your party (age 3 and older) receives the following:

• One Table Service Meal
• One Counter Service Meal
• One Snack

So, you can see that you receive 2 meals per person for each night of your stay, plus a snack, which covers most of your meals while at Walt Disney World.

What is included in the meals?

More food than you can imagine. You will never go hungry using the dining plan.

• Table Servive meals include one appetizer, one entree, one dessert and one non-alcoholic beverage per person. It also includes all your taxes and gratuties for the meal
• Counter Service meals include one entree/combo meal, one dessert and one non-alcoholic beverage. Taxes included, but if you use your counter service for breakfast, you will not get any dessert
• Snacks include popcorn, ice cream, fruit, soda, smoothies, bakery items and chips. Disney is constantly expanding the options you can get with your snack, so make sure you look for the DP logo when looking for a snack

Do I have to use one of each meal each day?

No. When you check in, your room keys are credited with the lump some of everyone's meals for your entire stay. So, if you have a family of 5 staying for 5 nights, you will be credited with 25 Table Service meals, 25 Counter Service meals and 25 snacks. You can use them whenever you want, as long as you use them by midnight the day you check out, they do expire. So, if you want to eat all of your snacks the first day, go right ahead, no one is going to stop you.

OK, so how much does it cost?

Adults (10 and older) are $37.99 per night while children (3 - 9) are only $10.99 per night. You must get the dining plan for your entire stay, you can not get only a portion of your stay. Children under the age of 3 are no-cost, but they do not get any meals, with the exception of buffets.

But, I want to do character meals!

No problem. You can use your Table service meals for character meals. One character meal is the same as a Table Service.

Can I eat anywhere I please?

Almost. There are a few restaurants and dinner shows that are more expensive, it will cost you two Table Servive meals per person to eat there. See the Restaurants list to find out which ones.

What else can I use the meals for?

Disney is continually expanding the options you can use the Disney Dining plan meals for you. These may change in the future, but they are up to date as of right now:

• Fantasmic Dining Experience - You can dine at either Hollywood & Vine or Mama Melrose's, and is one Table Servive per person. Brown Derby is also available, but is two Table Servive meals per person.
• Candlelight Processional Dinner Package - During 2005, you were able to use the dining plan to book this, and it is expected to continue in 2006. Just about every Epcot restaurants is available and it is one Table Service meal per person
• Grand Gatherings - you can use your Disney Dining plan to book The Safari Celebration Dinner, the Good Morning Gathering, and the International Dinner and the IllumiNations Dessert Party, but it will be two Table Service meals per person (and you must be part of a Grand Gathering)
• Epcot Food and Wine Festival - during the 2005 festival, most of the booths had several options that you could use your snacks as payment.
